Visiting The Big City...

I left mid-day Monday for a trek to DC for a week's worth of computer class. The frantic rush of traffic and noise here is unnerving. We're all creatures of our environment, I'm certain that's why I feel like a fish out of water.

Here, there are places to go, things to do and places to shop! I could be busy with a short list for months!! We of a variety of geographic locations have our differences, but at the same time, we're alike as well. We all laugh and cry, we watch the sunrise and sunset, and we're all amazed by the way the time of our life flies by.

I think I'll enjoy the visit, but I like my Blue Ridge view. That's the place those precious moments of my life are golden.

Spring is in the air!

Like most new homeowners I've waited to see what treasures will blossom in the yard now that the weather is warming. In this regard I've hit the jackpot~ Lilacs - 5 bushes burst into bloom about a week ago. Their fragrance is evident anywhere within 10 feet and double that if you're down wind.

My grandmother had a lilac bush - one of the very tall ones with the deep purple blossoms. Each spring the yard around her house would come alive with the Lilacs, Peony, and Bridal Veil. A perfect combination that mixes with springtime pollen for that unmistakable look and feel of spring.

Bleary red eyes, that special raw look around the nose that no make-up can repair, and conversation peppered with a good sneeze or two.

Ah, Spring! Ah, Nature!! Ah AH CHOO!
